Robert E. “Bob” Douglas was a founding member of Carey Douglas Kessler and Ruby PLLC, where he represented individuals and corporations in all civil areas of litigation, including contractual claims, product liability, toxic tort, personal injury, major estate matters, and mining law. Bob served as trial counsel in major class action litigation cases. Bob obtained his law degree from West Virginia University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Bob was admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Bob was always active in community matters, having previously served as chairman of numerous civic committees, and was very active in Masonic and Shrine activities, having served as Potentate of Beni Kedem Shrine. Bob was a former Board member of the Lexington, Kentucky, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Shrine Hospitals for Children. Bob’s professional experience included duty as a trustee in bankruptcy for the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia; eighteen years’ service as West Virginia counsel for Georgia-Pacific; defense attorney for Lake Asbestos of Quebec, ASARCO, Fisher Scientific, and Fairchild International. Bob also served as General Counsel for Appalachian Tire Products, Williamson Oil, and Mountain Mining & Supply.
